Database Technologies: MySQL, IBM-DB2, Sybase, Postgres, RAC
1. Postgres:
Desired Skill set: Installation of Postgres on different OS platform, Upgradation of Postgres, Cross OS platform OS migration for Postgres, Setup the DR, need to perform Dr-Drill. Hands on repmagr, Witness server, Pg_Bouncer and Pg_Pool. Need to ready on multi DB functionality. Hands on Backup and Recovery
2. IBM DB2:
Desired Skill set: Installation of IBM DB2 on Various OS Platform, Good knowledge of Upgradation and Migration for IBM DB2, Patch Management. Good Exposure to setup and configure HADR, Hands on HADR issues, good in DR Drill. Hands on all backup, restoration, recovery and Performance tuning things.
3. Sybase:
Desired Skill set: Installation of Sybase DB on muliOS platform, upgradation, migration, Replication server configuration, HADR setup hands on require. Hands on performance tuning and backup restore and recovery.
Job Description:
1. Database installation, configuration, management need to be done.
2. Good exposer for defining database architecture.
3. Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels.
4. Managing the storage structures of the database.
5. Managing users and security.
6. Managing database objects, such as tables, indexes, and views.
7. Backing up the database and performing recovery operations when necessary.
8. Good hands on Knowledge in Linux, HP-UX, SUSE, AIX, and Windows as per the oracle requirements.
9. Monitoring the state of the database and taking preventive or corrective action as required.
10. Good Hands-on experience for Performance tuning of database.
11. Strong experience in upgrade, patching in environments.
12. Performance Tuning Query, Instance, Database, I/O, handing long running queries.
13. Hands on experience replication and HADR activities.
14. Work with Systems, Storage, Network & Backup teams in setting up environments or issue resolution.
15. Well knowledge of Multi DB platform.
16. Ability to lead team technically in terms of database deliverables SLA management, scheduled task management, outage management.
17. Willing to work on multi database platform.
18. Mandatory requirement to have experience on other database technology as well.
19. Ready to work on 24/7.
20. Ready to work on holiday/ in critical situations.
